Pilgrimage from Assisi

On September 1, in celebration of the World Day of Prayer for Creation, leaders of Christian faith traditions held an ecumenical prayer service in Assisi, the home of St. Francis. Leaders from the Vatican, the World Council of Churches, the Lutheran World Federation, the Anglican Communion, the Ecumenical Patriarch, and many more traditions led the event. At its conclusion, leaders symbolically sent the spirit of St. Francis on pilgrimage to Katowice. Read more.

Pilgrimage from Germany

Starting 9 September, a climate pilgrimage travels from Bonn to Katowice. The pilgrims are calling for justice for the most vulnerable and care for God’s creation. These pilgrims will meet The Climate Pilgrimage in Poland and enter Katowice together. Learn more.
