In 2015, Yeb Saño embarked on an international journey to collect witness to the consequences of the climate crisis. From Oceania to the United States and Canada, the journey lifted up perspectives that are often forgotten.
The journey culminated in a pilgrimage from Rome to Paris, where the Paris climate talks were being held. Shoes from around the world were collected in Paris to represent real people around the world who face the effects of climate change. Shoes included a pair from Pope Francis.
The Climate Pilgrimage builds on Yeb’s 2015 journey of encounter and witness. Along the pilgrims’ route from the Vatican to Katowice, they will stop in communities large and small to break bread, share conversations, and build the spirit of solidarity.
